Make sure you’re ready to vote

Make sure your voter registration is up to date before Election Day. Iowa voters can register or update their registration online with an Iowa driver’s license or state-issued non-operator ID, or submit a paper form to the county auditor.

Vote Early or By Mail

Requests to vote absentee by mail are accepted by the Elections Office starting 70 days before Election Day. To vote absentee by mail, you must complete an Absentee Ballot Request Form. To receive an Absentee Ballot in the mail, the Elections Office must receive your Absentee Ballot Request Form by 5pm on the Monday, 15 days before Election Day.

Find Your Polling Place

On Election Day, voters must vote at their assigned polling place. Dubuque County Elections provides a polling place lookup by address.

Election Day Reminder

Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Poll hours and polling locations should be confirmed with Dubuque County Elections before you vote.
